Natural Diet For Pregnancy

Getting pregnant usually has 1 real benefit- women get to eat MORE! What a relief, right? I mean, we gotta take care of the baby. But, that doesnt mean that a pregnant woman should eat everything in sight.
Actually, its time to be EXTRA careful during this crucial time. And although there is a need to eat more – its very important to eat more of the healthy – natural foods that are complete with proper nutrients and vitamins.
Too many women depend on things like supplements and the like. But many times, supplements can have adverse effects that arent noticed until later.
The Early Months
During the pregnancy, it is hugely important that women concentrate on what the baby needs
at various points of development. For instance, in the earlier months a baby needs more energy because of the rapid cell division. This should include protein and whole grain foods.
And they should always be eaten at lunch- during the day. This will give you the ability to completely digest the foods and get the most energy out of them as well.
The Later Months
During the end of the pregnancy there is a strong release of calcium from the maternal bones as to provide for the baby. At this time, its best to INCREASE your dairy and soy intake, among other things, like greens.
And a great way for you to soften up your cervix , is to drink “Raspberry Leaf” tea. This will work wonders for your pregnancy and labor.

How To Avoid Supplements
These days, doctors will assume that the diet of a western woman is lacking in certain, important dietary needs during pregnancy. And this is the MAIN reason why they recommend the chemically prepared supplements. But if you are to use a balanced, whole foods diet, you can avoid the supplements altogether.
Which is totally recommended.
Here are some very important requirements of a healthy pregnancy diet:
- Iron – Although iron IS important to the diet, we should avoid taking ANY iron supplements. Because iron is actually toxic, we should focus on getting it out of natural foods, like leafy greens, dried fruits, pulses and others.
- Calcium – Low calcium will cause cramping in your legs and it happens frequently throughout the last tri-master. A great way to avoid this and other effects of low calcium, is to eat dairy products, soy , nuts, kelp and others. Include calcium in your diet and you will be assured to have a completely chemically free childbirth.
- Vitamin B - Can be sourced from yeast, seeds, beans, nuts, dairy foods, wheat germ, whole grains, avocadoes – all good staples for the whole foods vegetarian. Vitamin B supplements cause urine to turn dark yellow. This can cause urine tests to show high protein which can lead to pre-eclampsia! Taking supplements removes this vital sign whether we are taking enough fluids!
- Folic Acid - Very important to the early stages of pregnancy. It aids in cell-division – and without enough folic acid, there will be severe damage to the fetus- sometimes before pregnancy is confirmed. You can get your folic acid from foods like, yeast, whole grains, nuts, dairy products and more.
These are some very important keys to a safe and healthy pregnancy and child birth. Because sometimes, our babies will face side effects at some point down the road and we will not know until its too late.
Taking every precaution and avoiding things like “chemically balanced” supplements, is sure to lead to natural and happy child birth. And you will feel better to;)
